Filterlab

Filterlab's inception was officially in early 1996,
at a time when a move to a professional sound was necessary.
For years Filterlab had been merely a vision in the mind of its author,
but it was due for a merge with reality.
With equipment purchased and ideas envisaged, the exploration commenced
with writing for the aptly named album
' You'll Never Understand'.
Three and a half years later, over 30 tracks were written and eleven were selected for final mastering. The first album was born and became the hingepoint and benchmark for a level of creativity that was to determine Filterlab's future.
After almost five years away, it was time for Filterlab to return to writing.
With five years of ideas and developed technology, the author was desperate to get writing again.
As soon as the chance presented itself, the next album was underway. With a change of location for the author, the obviously titled ‘London Nights’ became the second step into music.
It was to be more complex, more inviting, more rounded and fuller in soundscape. It had to reflect the London living, and all the attached emotions.
Despite being only 9 tracks long, the target was accomplished and the album finished.
From concept to completion in 12 months.
What now…?
Now, the author is underway on the next album.
Fearing being left behind by life, the author has chosen to appropriately name the album;
‘Hopelessly Left Behind’.
It promises to be stronger, more thought provoking and more emotionally charged, with further complexity and a cleaner, more refreshing sound.
